When Attorney General Jeff Sessions said that he would take on the task of an investigating the Charlottesville domestic terrorism attack, we knew it was too good to be true. In other words, we knew it was a LIE.

You can be sure this Department of Justice in this administration is going to take the most vigorous action to protect the right of people like Heather Heyer, to protest against racism and bigotry.

This is Session’s statement Monday while he was on NBC’s “Today”. Now, Heather Heyer was the woman who’s life was taken from her as a result of the attack. But it’s just a day later and Sessions, who has been called out for his own racism, has flipped the script and dropped a bombshell of his own.

According to The Hill, The Department of Justice has requested information on visitors to a website used to organize protests against President Trump. DreamHost is a web hosting provider, that has been asked to hand over 1.3 million visitor IP addresses to the government, in addition to contact information, email content and photos of thousands of visitors to the website, which was involved in organizing protests against Trump on Inauguration Day.

The web hosting provider explained in a blog post that they believe the DOJ s going way too far.

That information could be used to identify any individuals who used this site to exercise and express political speech protected under the Constitution’s First Amendment. That should be enough to set alarm bells off in anyone’s mind.

The web provider published a search warrant issued by the Superior Court of the District of Columbia that asks for records and information related to the website and its owner, along with information that could be used to identify subscribers of the website.

Even Richard Painter, who is a former White House ethics lawyer under Bush, says this isn’t right. Tweeting out,

“This is abuse of power. DOJ is not there to investigate the President’s political opponents.”

Uh, this crackdown should be a part of Sessions’ agenda for the terrorist of Charlottesville. It’s so crazy how quick Trump and his administration move when he feels threatened, but when American people are threatened he slow to speak and nowhere to be found.
