  • Terrified Trump Continues Delusional ‘Deep State’ Rant On Twitter As Mueller’s Team Closes In

    Donald Trump, Politics, Russia

On Wednesday, Donald Trump continued his tirade against the imaginary shadow government called “the deep state,” that he claims is undermining his presidency. He claimed that a “spy” was “placed” inside his presidential campaign by the Department of Justice under the direction of Barrack Obama’s administration.

Look how things have turned around on the Criminal Deep State,” the president tweeted early Wednesday. “They go after Phony Collusion with Russia, a made up Scam, and end up getting caught in a major SPY scandal the likes of which this country may never have seen before! What goes around, comes around!”

Trump supporters define the “deep state” as a secret shadowy cabal of career government bureaucrats who work night and day to depose Trump illegally.

SPYGATE could be one of the biggest political scandals in history!” Trump further declared Wednesday.

In recent days Trump’s been climbing the walls over reports that an FBI informant came into contact with members of his 2016 presidential campaign, and demanded that the Justice Department investigate. On Monday, Trump had a meeting with FBI Director Christopher Wray and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who decided to give Republican lawmakers access to classified materials related to the case.

The New York Times reports that the FBI sent the informant in to speak with two Trump campaign advisers, George Papadopoulos and Carter Page after the department “received evidence that the pair had suspicious contacts linked to Russia during the campaign.”

Meanwhile, Rosenstein is rumored to be in Trump’s crosshairs as he’s overseeing Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian election meddling and possible collusion with the Trump campaign. Mueller is also looking into Trump’s dismissal of former FBI Director James Comey, who said that Trump pressured him to derail the investigation before he was fired.

“Facts matter,” Comey tweeted on Wednesday. “The FBI’s use of Confidential Human Sources (the actual term) is tightly regulated and essential to protecting the country. Attacks on the FBI and lying about its work will do lasting damage to our country. How will Republicans explain this to their grandchildren?”

As Trump continues to desperately invent new (and recycle old) distractions in hopes of making Americans forget or turn against the federal investigation into his campaign, Robert Mueller continues his quiet and deliberate investigation. So far Mueller’s investigation has produced 17 indictments and five guilty pleas from people associated with Trump’s presidential campaign. Mueller must seem like the political grim reaper slowly creeping closer in a nightmare that Trump can’t seem to wake himself up from.

Let’s hope that once Mueller’s investigation concludes, that America will finally be able to wake up from the long, torturous nightmare known as the Trump administration.

I believe America's a stronger nation when we come together as one to find a solution and humble ourselves enough to consider other points of view from our neighbors around the world. I don't believe in American exceptionalism, but I do believe America can only be an exceptional place as long as we can be brutally honest about its strengths and weaknesses.
