White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has seemingly decided to have a day off and become a stand-up comedian. In her press briefing on Tuesday, the under-pressure darling of the Trump administration went on record to insist that her credibility was “higher than the media’s” and that she was an “honest person.”
Considering that her job has been to peddle daily rubbish on behalf of President Trump, it seems amazing that she could talk about credibility somehow. Sanders is somewhat well-regarded for her cool persona (some might say cold), but on this occasion, she missed the mark by a mile. It is well known that President Trump is hardly the world’s most honest politician and by definition, Sanders has to go out and sell his lies almost constantly since taking over the job.
“I think you all know I’m an honest person who works extremely hard to provide you with accurate information at all times,” Sanders told reporters at the presser.
On this occasion, Sanders failed to tackle the subject of her now-debunked theory that President Trump had not dictated his son’s testimony to the special investigation being conducted by Special Investigator Robert Mueller regarding a meeting at Trump Tower. But Sanders shot back at the media after the questions, insisting, “Frankly, I think my credibility is probably higher than the media’s and I think in large part that’s because you guys spend more of your time focused on attacking the president than reporting the news,” she said.
What is clear from her attack on the mainstream media, is that Sanders is starting to crack under pressure and her attempt to plead her credibility is the desperate act of someone trying to come to terms with having to risk their reputation daily on a boss who constantly lies. You have to almost feel sorry for her…
