Two of the most visible spokespersons for the Trump administration are calling it quits, the latest shakeup in the White House. Those people are Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Principal Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah.
Good Bye, Sarah Huckabee Sanders
According to sources close to the White House, Sanders has been complaining to close friends, saying that she plans to depart by the end of the year.
Sanders is an ardent defender of Trump and has been willing to lie to the public to preserve the public persona of the president. PolitiFact records some of these damning lies: The lie that “diversity visa immigrants” are not vetted, that Trump has never encouraged violence, and that Obama illegally wiretapped him, just to name a few.
Good Bye, Raj Shah
Shah is also leaving the White House, but there isn’t a set date as of yet. Shah has been the spokesperson for Trump during the Stormy Daniels scandal — one in which Trump played dumb and acted like he didn’t know who Daniels was and accusing her of being a liar.
Over the course of the year, the White House has consolidated its workforce, eliminating jobs and assigning multiple portfolios of responsibility to individual staffers.
With two of the more important attack dogs in Trump’s arsenal, it seems like the White House is breaking down.
This story is breaking and will be updated as necessary.
